Intro to me!

Welcome to the world of blogger and blogging. Interesting, I've heard a lot about blogging but never truly understood the point. Yes I find myself very intriguing and I hope you do also. One thing I can promise anyone who is viewing my blog is that I will always have fun interesting debatable topics and I am not afraid to share my opinion.

Being my first ever blog I'll tell you all a little about myself.

I grew up in a little town south of the Twin Cities called Farmington. I graduated from school there in 2003. I did not attend college right after high school as I was more concerned with the well being of my mother who had breast cancer at the time. I'm happy to say that she is not over 10 years clean, one of the survivor stories that are way to rare. Back on topic though, after high school it was hard to leave as my father was a truck driver and led long hours. Staying home seemed to be the best option for me and my family.

This break from school proved to be a very key aspect to my determination once I finally got back into school. By then I knew what I wanted to do, I had a passion for it and most importantly I had realized what life was like without a college degree and knew that was no life for me or my future family that I wanted to be able to support. So when I got back into school I had much better grades than I ever had in high school. All my life I was eager to learn things, anything, you put it front of me I wanted to learn about it. I realized I had an endless imagination and extremely high drive for increased knowledge. Because of this I began a very fast learner. A teacher once told me that, "I picked up on things so quickly that half way through their explanation I was able to help assist them in explaining it to the other students." I never understood people's resistance to learn. I laugh constantly as I listen to classmates discuss their weekend parties, meanwhile I not only read the material but more than likely did some extra research online about the topic just to better understand it.

Currently I'm a UMD (University of Minnesota-Duluth) student about to graduate with a degree in Marketing. I have become very interested in social media marketing as it has become a booming industry and seems to have a lot of opportunity for growth in many ways for businesses. I tend to follow a lot of pages just to keep up to date with the new waves within the industry and I always find it fascinating to see what others are doing. What's working what doesn't work, personally I fall in love with marketing campaigns, take K-Mart recent move for example in tactics. Nearing a collapse the company puts out a few edgy youtube ads, as well as a few new school commercials and boom back on the map!! I am sort of an odd ball to most of my friends as I find marketing campaigns and ads to not just be funny, but I sit there and analyze the ad, why did it work, will it be remembered easily.....etc. I know I'm probably made a few turn away reading this, but if you are still reading, either you really like me or you fully get where I am coming from with my life joys......

Also I must mention, being from Minnesota, I'm a huge Vikings/Twins/Wild/T-Wolves fan. I support the local teams and truly love sports with a passion that makes me cry at times. Yes I said it, cry, I'm not afraid to have a moment a significant moment bring me to tears. For example, this summer my father and I went to the NFL Hall of Fame to see Cris Catrter get into the Hall. Watching over 100 HOF's walk into the room was epic and how does one not shed a few tears in that moment after being a fan of the game for 25+ years now!

Anyways, follow me if you like anything you've read thus far. I look forward to entertaining the few that enjoy my banter!
